Mystic Inn Has Expansion Plans, Applies For Special Permit

The Whaler's Inn is seeking to expand by converting a Cottrell Street building into hotel suites.

MYSTIC, CT — The Whaler's Inn is seeking to expand with a proposal to convert the former Odd Fellows building into five hotel suites with an office and lobby, The New London Day reported. Whaler's Inn RE LLC has applied for a special use permit, and the plan is being reviewed by the Stonington Planning and Zoning Commission.

The company purchased the Odd Fellows Building at 11 Cottrell St. for $2.65 million in 2020. The application seeks to change the use of five residential units into hotel suites ranging in size from 894 to 1,745 square feet.
