Mystic Man Charged in New London Hit-and-Run After Stealing Weed Whacker

Stonington Police arrested a man Tuesday accused of a hit and run accident after reportedly stealing a weed whacker, The Westerly Sun reported.

Jason Carson of Mystic was reported to have stolen a weed wacker from the front of an Old Mystic home, whose physical features and car were described by the owner, according to the Westerly Sun. A man in a truck matching his description was reported a minute later to have hit another car getting onto the highway and left.

Police found Carson in New London, where he denied knowing about hitting the car and thinking the weed hacker and been left out for free taking, the Westerly Sun reported. He was arrested on several charges and later released after being given a court date.
