Mystic Middle School Teacher Will Not be Reprimanded for "Animal Farm" Decision Opposition
The teacher had told parents in an email that he was not given a good reason for the dropping of the book from reading lists.

STONINGTON, CT - School officials said a Mystic schoolteacher has not and will not be reprimanded for his opposition to the dropping of āAnimal Farmā from his class reading list, as reported by The Day.
Mystic Middle School teacher Ed Goldberg has been vocal in his disappointment over the schoolās decision to drop the George Orwell novel from the curriculum, according to The Day. The novel was previously an āanchor book,ā meaning it was taught by all eighth-grade language arts classes.
In response to a Freedom of Information Act request from The Day, school officials said Goldberg had not been reprimanded in any way for his opposition. Goldberg had told parents in an email that he was not given a reason for the dropping of the book that made sense to him.
