A Mystic restaurateur said he plans to invest in renovations for the former Econo Lodge property.
MYSTIC, CT — A local restaurateur has plans to renovate and reopen the former Econo Lodge on Route 27, according to The Day.
Bill Middleton, owner of three nearby restaurants, said the project, anticipated to cost $2.5 million, will maintain the mid-century aesthetics of the motel while significantly upgrading the property.
The motel was built in 1965 as the Old Mystic Motor Lodge. Middleton plans to open a 56-unit motel at the site.
