Mystic Seaport Hotel Construction Under Way
Construction on the Delamar Mystic Hotel on the former Latitude 41 restaurant site has begun.

MYSTIC, CT â Construction has begun on the Delamar Mystic Hotel on the grounds of Mystic Seaport Museum, according to The Day. The site is the former home of Latitude 41 restaurant, which closed last year.
The "luxury boutique hotel, spa, and restaurant" is being developed by Greenwich Hospitality Group. It will feature 33 guest rooms, a waterfront restaurant, a 2,600-square-foot ballroom, an event lawn, and a pool, according to a release from Mystic Seaport Museum.
The restaurant will have seating for 90 guests inside and 100 guests outside. The ballroom and lawn will host weddings, corporate events, private parties, and other functions.

The hotel, which will be Delamar's sixth location, is planning a fall 2024 opening.

The restaurant's owners said "COVID, the economy, and prior notices that the property was scheduled for demolition in 2021 had taken a negative toll on the restaurant."
The hotel's path to development has been a long time in the making. The Stonington Planning and Zoning Commission narrowly approved plans to demolish Latitude 41 and construct the hotel in 2020. Residents had expressed concerns about traffic and the height of the building.
