Mystic Texting Driver Sentenced In Connection To Fatal Crash

A Mystic teen who was texting while driving when a 2021 fatal crash occurred was sentenced to prison, according to a report.

MYSTIC, CT — A Mystic teen who admitted he was texting while driving when a fatal crash occurred will serve one year in prison, The Day reported. Ryan Brown, 21, of Mystic, pleaded guilty in May to a second-degree manslaughter charge.

Brown, who was 19 at the time, was the driver in an accident that killed Michelle McMullen, 52, of Norwich in April 2021.

He was sentenced Tuesday in New London Superior Court to one year in prison and five years probation.
