Attorneys Barry Boodman and Charlene LaVoie from the non-profit organization, The Law Works, are presenting a talk on “National Security After 9/11” at the Mystic & Noank Library on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 6:30 p.m.
The Law Works presents timely topics of legal and social interest. This talk looks at security versus privacy, more than a decade after the events of September 11, 2001. What price are we willing to pay in the name of security, looking at the recent news about the NSA’s activities and the Snowden disclosures? Where should the balance lie? Should we watch the “watchers,” and how do we do that? There will be an open debate after the presentation, and all will be encouraged to participate.
The talk is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Library at (860) 536-7721 or email mnl@juno.com. www.mysticnoanklibrary.org.
