Nearly $1 Million Pledged By Mystic Couple For YMCA Rennovation

STONINGTON, CT - A Mystic couple has pledged nearly $1 million towards the renovation of a local YMCA, the New London Day reported. Additionally, the couple has pledged to donate more if the organization is able to raise matching funds.

Sekhar and Archana Naik have donated $800,000 to the Ocean Community YMCA, according to the New London Day. The money will go toward the upcoming $7.2 million renovation and expansion of its Mystic branch. (To sign up for Stonington/Mystic breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

The Naik's have also pledged to donate another $200,000 if the YMCA raises $200,000 in matching funds by Aug. 15, the New London Day reported. This would bring the couple's total donation to approximately $1 million.
