New School Building Opens In North Stonington
Wheeler Middle/High School's new building has opened following a year of construction.
NORTH STONINGTON, CT - Wheeler Middle/High School has opened in a new building across the street from the old building, the Day reported. Part of a $38.5 million project that also includes elementary school renovations, construction was approved by a February 2018 referendum by a margin of 1,352-611.
Principal Kristen St. Germain told the Day she appreciated that the students now have a place to be proud of following years of setbacks. The new building includes improvements such as higher-security doors, touchscreen smartboards, and laboratories that allow the school to offer AP Chemistry courses.
