North Stonington Student Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist
A North Stonington student is a semifinalist for a National Merit Scholarship.
NORTH STONINGTON, CT — The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has announced the names of over 16,000 semifinalists in the 68th annual National Merit Scholarship Program, including a Wheeler High School student. These high school seniors are being recognized for academic achievement.
Semifinalists are granted an opportunity to continue in the competition for 7,250 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million. The scholarships will be offered next spring.
The semifinalist from Wheeler High School is Benjamin Nave.

Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level of the competition.
About 95 percent of the semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing. Half the finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship.
