North Stonington Wreck Leaves Man Dead, Girl Seriously Injured: Report

A Norwich man was killed and an 11-year-old girl was seriously injured in a North Stonington accident Thursday morning.

NORTH STONINGTON, CT — A crash on Route 2 in Stonington on Thursday morning killed a 36-year-old Norwich man and seriously injured an 11-year-old girl, The New London Day reported. Josue Fragoza was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The 11-year-old passenger was taken to Backus Hospital in Norwich, then airlifted to Hartford Hospital.

Fragoza was driving a red 2008 Ford Fusion east on Route 2, approaching Cossaduck Hill Road, or Route 201, shortly after 7:30 a.m. when the vehicle left the road for an unknown reason, The New London Day reported. The car then went into a fishtail, crossing both lanes of traffic, and rolled over into the westbound lanes.

Route 2 was closed Thursday morning due to an accident investigation but has since reopened.
