Obituary: Alma R. Nott, 73, of Stonington
She was a master of many crafts, some of which were cake decorating, sewing, knitting, crochet and in her later years jewelry making.

Alma Rodel (Minson) Nott, wife of 50 years to Richard E Nott of 28 Shawondassee Drive Stonington, known to friends and family as Betty, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family after a long, and very brave battle with cancer.
"Betty" enjoyed many artistic activities and was a master of many crafts some of which were cake decorating, sewing, knitting, crochet, and in her later years, jewelry making.

She was an incredible caregiver. As a child she tended to her grandparents needs as their health declined, and later as a teenager, left high school to take care of her father while he was experiencing health issues.
"Betty" also worked in a caregiving environment. She worked for Project Learn transporting special needs children to and from school and in later years she helped out at Meals on Wheels in Stonington.

She was the first born of twins in New London on January 29,1943 to the late Elmer R Minson and the late Helen (Davis) Minson.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her three children, David W. Nott and his wife Sharron of Anchorage, Alaska, John H. Nott and his wife Melissa of Charlestown Rhode Island, and daughter Ann N. Brown and her husband Kirk of New Roads, Louisiana. Survivors also include 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren as well as her twin sister Althea Pagliaruli of New Britain Connecticut , Sister Margaret Carlton of Cameron, North Carolina, and brother Leonard Tubbs of Bristol, Connecticut.
The family wishes to give special thanks to all of Betty's Hospice caregivers, especially her nurse, Chris; Home Health Aide, Marguerite; and Reverend Mark for their professionalism and caring support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks those who wish to make a donation to Center for Hospice Care of Southeastern CT.
As per Betty's wishes, Services and burial will be private.
