Obituary: Anne 'Betty' Jacobsen, 94, of Mystic
She found nothing more satisfying than creating a home, enjoying extended family, and planting and landscaping her property.

Anne Elizabeth (Betty) Trail Jacobsen (94), a life-long resident of the Groton/Mystic area, passed away in the early hours of November 10, 2016, after being surrounded by family in her final days.
Betty was born in New London CT in 1922, one of 5 children of M. Henry and M. Esther Spicer Trail. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Lawrence R. Jacobsen , to whom she was married for 75 years. She graduated from Robert Fitch Senior High and was an active volunteer for years, in the L&M Hospital Auxiliary, Connecticut Trails Girl Scouting, Child and Family agency, and Rake and Trowel (now Trillium) Garden Club.

She leaves her son, David Jacobsen, of Madison, AL, and three daughters, Karen Menzies, (Waterford) Jan Jacobsen ( Old Saybrook ), and Sandra Watrous (Groton), 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank her friend and companion Roxanne from VITAS Hospice Care.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 1 until 2:30 with a service at 2:30 at the Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St. Interment will be private.
