Obituary: Brian Archer Thorp, 75
Brian moved to Noank in 1946 and graduated from Fitch Sr. High and Quinnipiac University.

Brian Archer Thorp passed away on July 14th, 2018, at home surrounded by family. He was born in Manchester, CT, on March 5th, 1943, to the late William H. & Anita P. Thorp. Brian moved to Noank in 1946 and graduated from Fitch Sr. High and Quinnipiac University.
He went on to have a successful career which took him across the country from coast to coast. Happy to retire, he returned to his beloved CT in 2007. Once home, Brian poured himself into a number of causes and passions serving the community.

He is survived by his wife, Joan MacGregor; his son Christopher & wife Betsy of Stonington, CT; his daughter Ashley & husband Scott of New Bern, NC; and son Jonathan & wife Jaclyn of Fort Worth, TX. Also surviving Brian is his brother Barry & wife Stephanie of Mystic, CT; his sister Julia Ratliff of Signal Mountain, TN; sisters-in law Faye Southern & husband Donn of Memphis, TN and Bette Collins & husband James of Mystic, CT; six wonderful grandchildren: Jenny, Matthew, Peter, Elias, Bennett, and Bexley; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Brian was pre-deceased by his brother-in-law James Ratliff and nephew James Collins.
A memorial service will be held at the Noank Baptist Church at 11am on Friday, July 20th, 2018. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the ALS Association at www.alsa,org or Groton Open Space Association (GOSA) at www.gosaonline.org.
