Obituary: Ethel G. Filosi, 87, Of Mystic

Ethel was a garment presser for the former French Cleaners in Mystic for 25 years up until her retirement.

Ethel (Greene) Filosi, 87, of Mystic, CT died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Pendleton Health and Rehab Center. Born in Westerly, RI she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Mabel (Maxson) Greene and lived in Mystic since 1955.

Ethel was a garment presser for the former French Cleaners in Mystic for 25 years up until her retirement.

She is survived by her two children, John W. Jones of Mystic and Terry Lena and her husband, Peter, of Ledyard; two sisters, Catherine Knight of Pawcatuck and Annie Parnigoni of Westerly; three grandchildren, Michelle Martin of Groton, David Lena and his wife, Lynn, of VT and Rachael Jones of Stonington; and three great-grandchildren, Ezra Lena and Daniel and Jenna Martin. She is also survived by numerous friends, especially, a close friend, Rosalind Lewis whom she enjoyed traveling with for many years. In addition to travel, Ethel was an avid quilter and knitter.

She was predeceased by her two husbands, John W. Jones and Edward R. Filosi and two brothers, John and Frederick Greene.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, December 20 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. at the Mystic Funeral Home, located on Route 1 in Mystic. Her burial will be private following the service.
