Obituary: Mystic Outdoor Art Festival Founder Died Monday

Beonne Boronda Liebig, 100, of Mystic, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2012.

Born in New Monterey, Calif., on May 23, 1911, Beonne was instrumental in founding the Mystic Outdoor Art Festival.

She was daughter of Lester and Roby Bordona. Marketing Coordinator Barbara Lispche said Beonne and Lester were active members in the Mystic Art Association during the early years. In 1930 she became an Elected Artist.

“As we enter our 99th year in the community, Beonne’s passing reminds all of us at the Mystic Arts Center how indebted we are to the early artists who through their dedication and hard work helped create this wonderful organization,” Lispche said.
