Obituary: Pat Hornok of Mystic

Pat had a passion for her dogs, gardening, yard sales, but most of all her family.

Pat Hornok of Mystic passed away October 10 at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Walter P. Mason and Vara Mason formerly of South Glens Falls, NY.

Pat graduated from South High, class of 1957. She attended SUNY Oneonta and Secretarial School in Columbia, SC.

She worked for many years for the Methodist Church in Groton, CT. She also worked as a teacher’s aide.

In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Beaudet and numerous pet dogs.

Pat had a passion for her dogs, gardening, yard sales, but most of all her family. She had a reputation for baking delicious pies.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, William Hornok of Mystic; her daughters, Vicki (Tony) Adams and Deborah (Mark) Minter; her grandchildren, Darby Minter and Zachary Minter. She is also survived by her sisters, Jan Duell of North Creek and Marilyn Duff of Lynchburg, VA; her brother W. Philip (Nancy) Mason, Jr. of Knoxville, TN and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition she leaves behind her beloved dog Chester.

There will be no calling hours. Pat’s ashes will be interred at a memorial service at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA next spring.
