Obituary: Shirley Rae Marsh Sharp, 90, Of Stonington

Shirley Rae Marsh Sharp, 90, of Stonington, formerly of Groton, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at her residence. She was born on January 10, 1926 in Binghamton, NY, the daughter of Raymond J. and Stella Meagley Marsh.

Shirley was married September 16, 1950 to the late Robert M. Sharp who passed away in 2008. She was also predeceased by her son James D. Sharp and her son in law Paul Puhlick.

Her survivors include three daughters, Margaret and Larry Marcom of Santa Rosa, CA and their children Jason and Allison Rae; Cynthia Puhlick of Lisbon and her children Joshua, Justin, Peter and David; Pamela and Steven Spellman, and their children Kelly Rae and Robert Keane. She is also survived by her son’s children Jacqueline, Samantha Rae, Jacob and John.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 13 at the Byles- Groton Memorial Home (310 Thames Street). Her burial will follow in the Colonel Ledyard Cemetery in Groton.

In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that donations be directed to either the Center for Hospice Care, (227 Dunham St, Norwich, CT 06360) or to the Salvation Army (11 Governor Winthrop Blvd, New London, CT 06320).
