Obituary: William 'Bill' Harold Jennings V, 98, Of Mystic
Bill previously lived in Gales Ferry, where he resided for over 50 years.

William "Bill" Harold Jennings V, 98, of Mystic, formerly of Gales Ferry, adopted son of Duncan H. and Lou Rena M. Jennings, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at his residence.
Bill was born September 3, 1920 in Huntington Beach, CA, the son of Earl E. and Lillian F. Miller. He married the love of life, Ellen V. Brunkhardt of Springfield Gardens, NY, on November 20, 1943.

After living in New York and California, Bill and Ellen settled in Gales Ferry where they lived for over 50 years. Bill was predeceased by Ellen after 74 years of marriage. He also was predeceased by both his natural and adoptive parents and two natural brothers, Earl and Donald Miller and two natural sisters, Yvonne Kramer and Jane Miller.
Bill graduated from Glendale High School in Glendale, CA and from Collegiate Institute of New York City. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Bill retired from Electric Boat in 1982, as chief of purchasing, after 25 years of service.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Bonnie J. Wells and her husband Edward of Mystic, CT; two sons, Donald W. Jennings and his wife Deanna of Burbank, CA and Gary E. Jennings and his wife Marion of Chesterfield, VA; his six grandchildren, Julie Rose-Wells and her wife Kelly of North Dartmouth, MA, Danielle Epperson of East Haven, CT, Matthew Jennings and his wife Sandra of Dallas, TX, Brendan Jennings of North Hollywood, CA, Jason Jennings of Mystic, CT and Brett Jennings of Chesterfield, VA; his four great-grandchildren, Lauren and Tyler Rose-Wells of North Dartmouth, MA and Charlotte and Lillian Jennings of Dallas, TX.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Byles-Groton Memorial Home (310 Thames Street, Groton). Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Center for Hospice Care Southeastern Connecticut, 227 Dunham St., Norwich, CT 06360 or to Ledyard Regional VNA, 741 Colonel Ledyard Hwy., Ledyard, CT 06339.
