Over the past 13 years, this neighbors-helping-neighbors event has annually raised between $5,000 and $21,000. 2017 promises to be another banner year for charity! Throughout Olde Mistick Village, both indoors and out, there will be free family fun events for all.
Vicki Anderson, Executive Director of The Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center has seen an enormous increase in the need for emergency food over the past 13 years. Many families now need supplemental food twice each month and the center is presently feeding nearly 2000 people each year.
The PNC has also created a Weekender Backpack Food Program for children enrolled in their schoolās āFree & Reduced Lunchā program. This provides children with access to fresh milk, sandwiches, and other food items to get them through the weekend. In fact, in 2015, 35% of all children in the Stonington school system were enrolled in this supplemental lunch program, up nearly twofold over the past 11 years.
With the generous participation of Olde Mistick Village Shops, over 15 local restaurants and caterers, and the support of our patrons and community, Cabin Fever Festival and Charity Cook-Off will help many individuals and families in need. Please support this worthy cause.
This fun family festival is a rain, snow or shine event. Olde Mistick Village is located at 27 Coogan Blvd., Mystic, CT, exit 90 off I-95.
