Over 75 Support Stonington Highway Employee At Meeting: Report

A crowd of over 75 people showed their support for a Stonington highway employee at a recent meeting.

STONINGTON, CT — Over 75 people turned up for a meeting Wednesday to tell the Board of Selectmen they support Stonington highway employee Daniel Oliverio, who feels he has been targeted for discipline by Public Works Director Barbara McKrell, the New London Day reported.

According to the Day, former Highway Department supervisor Louis DiCesare II was among those who showed their support for Oliverio. He was fired from his position in 2015 by McKrell, who alleged at the time that DiCesare was insubordinate.

Though many of the details surrounding Oliverio's complaints have not been made public, officials said a "workplace complaint" submitted by Oliverio is currently being investigated, according to the Day.
