Tractor Trailer Carrying Raw Fish Overturns On I-95: State Police
State police said traffic was delayed on I-95 in Stonington after a tractor trailer carrying 45,000 pounds of raw fish overturned.
STONINGTON, CT — Connecticut Department of Transportation officials said the left lane of Interstate 95 Northbound was closed in Stonington for approximately two hours due to an overturned tractor trailer. The accident was later reported cleared at approximately 12:08 p.m. on the Statewide CTDOT Twitter page.
The incident occurred between Exits 91 and 92, according to DOT officials. State police said on Twitter the tractor trailer was carrying 45,000 pounds of raw fish, and the incident resulted in one minor injury.
Travelers are advised to expect delays and to seek out alternate routes when possible.
