Pawcatuck Man Charged With Rental Vehicle Theft: Police
Police said a Pawcatuck man has been charged with stealing a rental car that was found parked outside a Groton hotel.

GROTON, CT - Police said a man has been charged with stealing a rental car after finding the missing vehicle parked outside a Groton hotel, the New London Day reported. Police said the car was valued at $22,500.
Michael P. Gomez, 38, of Pawcatuck is accused of stealing a Nissan Altima that had been reported stolen by Enterprise Rent-A-Car and the man who had initially rented the vehicle, according to the New London Day. Two employees eventually located the missing car in the parking lot of the Rodeway Inn. Police subsequently found the suspect inside the hotel, where he told police he knew nothing of the car, the New London Day reported. Officers located the car's missing registration plate, a keychain printed with the name “Michael" and medications with Gomez’s name on the labels inside the vehicle.
