Pawcatuck Man Charged With Strangulation, Assault
A local man was arrested after his girlfriend and a child escaped their home.
STONINGTON, CT - A Pawcatuck man was arrested after his girlfriend and her 4-year-old son escaped the home through a window, The Westerly Sun reported. Luke Edward Sayers, 37, of 8 Lincoln Ave., was charged with first-degree strangulation, second-degree unlawful restraint, third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, and risk of injury to a minor.
A resident reported that the woman and her daughter had escaped the home around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Sayers is accused of punching the woman several times and strangling her to the point of unconsciousness.
