Pawcatuck Mocktail Bar Announces Closing

PAWCATUCK, CT — A Pawcatuck mocktail bar that opened last month has closed. The Maritime Mocktail Bar & Cafe opened June 3 and announced it would be closing July 2.

The 37 Broad St. establishment served virgin alcoholic drinks made with zero-proof alcohol, according to a CT Examiner article. Keith Cowley, a nondrinker with 20 years of experience as a bartender, created the establishment's menu of mocktails.

The owners of Mocktail Bar & Cafe recently posted the following on Facebook:

"To all the business owners - YOU ARE Amazing!! Thank You for providing services & goods through many challenges.

"The dedication, money, sweat and tears can never be quantified for business owners. Even though some business don’t succeed, it’s the skills, knowledge that can be learned that is invaluable.
Today I have decided to close Maritime Mocktails and list it for sale to see if there is anyone interested.

"I believe in choices, and to make choices with appreciation and love.

"On to my next adventure
