Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Train In Stonington: Reports
An Amtrak train hit and killed a person in Stonington over the weekend, according to reports.
STONINGTON, CT — A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Stonington over the weekend, according to FOX 61.
Local police were notified at 11:25 a.m. Saturday by Amtrak police that a person was hit by a train in the area between the Route 1 overpass and the Prospect Street and Palmer Street railroad crossing.
Crews arrived to find a person who was declared dead at the scene of the accident, WFSB 3-TV reported.

The train involved, which was traveling from Boston to Washington, D.C., was stopped during the investigation, which remains ongoing.
There were 407 passengers and crew aboard the train, none of whom were injured.
