Plans For 2 New Mystic Hotels Shelved For Now
Plans to build two new hotels in Mystic are scrapped. For now.

MYSTIC, CT—Plans for two new hotels for Mystic are shelved for now, The Day reports. Plans to erect two hotels behind the Holiday Inn Express on Coogan Boulevard were withdrawn Tuesday at the Stonington Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, but the project can be resurrected.
The Day reported that Stonington Town Engineer Scot Deledda, the Board of Police Commissioners and the Water Pollution Control Authority has all previously voiced worries about the projects.
Developer J & H Hospitality had been looking for a "zone change amendment and site plan approval for a zone change from Tourist Commercial to Neighborhood Development District for the two hotels — a 97-room Homewood Suites and an unnamed 120-room hotel," it was reported.
