North Stonington Shooting: Victim Dies, Homicide Investigation Launched: UPDATE
Residents and travelers are asked to avoid the area as troopers respond and investigate.

NORTH STONINGTON, CT ā Connecticut State Police said Wednesday night that the shooting victim in North Stonington died as a result of the injuries they sustained earlier in the day. State Police are investigating the case as a homicide and urge anyone with information call them at 860-870-5595.
The scene of the shooting is currently said by police to be Lantern Hill Road. Police said around 5:05 p.m. that EDMC detectives were also en route to the scene of the shooting with at least one life-threatening injury.
Residents are asked to avoid the area as troopers respond and investigate, police said. State Police said at 7 p.m. that detectives continue shooting investigation and are interviewing possible witnesses.

"There is no threat to the public/community," State Police said on social media. At 10 p.m. State Police confirmed that the victim died as a result of injuries sustained earlier on Wednesday.
