Woman Stabbed In Pawcatuck Has 'Life Threatening' Injury

Police got a 911 call about a domestic incident on Mechanic Street. They found a woman stabbed and the suspect on the run.

PAWCATCUK, CT — Police are on the scene of a reported stabbing Saturday morning at a home on Mechanic Street in downtown Pawcatuck.

Emergency dispatch was heard before 9 a.m. responding to a stabbing victim and "traumatic (cardiac) arrest."

Stonington Police Capt. Todd Olson said in a press release around an hour after Patch first reported the incident that it was around 8:15 in the morning Saturday when police got a 911 call about a domestic at the house on Mechanic Street. When cops got there, they found a woman had been stabbed, was taken to Westerly Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Stonington Police Department Detective Unit and the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Unit are currently investigating the case, Olson said, adding, "we do not have the suspect in custody as (he) fled the scene in a vehicle as officers arrived."

Just before 6 p.m. and there's been no update from police.
