Police Search For Stonington Counterfeit Suspect

A man reportedly entered a local shop and attempted to use five fake $100 bills.

STONINGTON, CT - Police are searching for a man suspected of using counterfeit money. Police released the following statement:

"Stonington PD is attempting to identify the man in the photo in regards to counterfeit currency. If you have any information please contact Officer Ryan Armstrong @ 860-599-7532."

The man tried to use the bills at the Pawcatuck Stop & Shop on Liberty Street. He entered the store and attempted to use five fake $100 bills in order to purchase gift cards, The Westerly Sun reported.
