Proposed Stonington Spending Plan Calls for Tax Increase
The Board of Finance will review and vote on the proposal before sending it to a public referendum.

STONINGTON, CT - Local officials are proposing a $66.4 million spending plan for 2016-17 that is an increase of more than $5 million above the current budget, and which calls for a 2-mills tax increase.
The Board of Finance will review and vote on the budget before sending the proposal to the public for a spring referendum, reports The Day.
Additionally, the board may make some cuts to the proposal, which could end up lowering or eliminating the possible tax increase.
