Putin is Justified and Acting Correctly

I am not a fan of Russian Presitator Vladmir (The Centaur) Putin.  However, it is pretty obvious now that the former KGB Colonel deals with the real world.  Reality is in his DNA. His counterpart in the Land of the Free is dealing with the world as he believes it should be - and Obama repeatedly has his farytale world shredded by reality; this time it has happened with the help of Vlad the Realist. Furthermore, Putin has the moral high ground when it comes to upholding the law and maintaining stability in the region that remains Russia's sphere of influence.  Consider:

1. The leader that was ousted was the duly-elected President of Ukraine. His opposition claims that their President went back on his promise to strengthen ties to the European Union. They claim that he is deeply corrupted by cronyism and in the pocket of Russia and of other special interests. How is this different from our own President Obama's situation, and therefore, who is Obama to criticize and call for the Ukrainian President's ouster?

2.
Russian troops have thus far not fired a shot. While the USA and European countries sought to de-stabilize the region and create a thorn in Russia's side, confronting Russia with the loss of important military bases and territory that has been in Russian control since the time of Catherine The Great, Russia has acted with considerable restraint. Putin requested and recieved the permission of the Russian Parliament before taking action in Ukraine - something USA Presidents seem to fail to do with increasing frequency, not to mention increasing secrecy. Who is the USA to criticize Putin's process, or ignore the fact of Russia's strong ties to this region that we in the West seek to meddle in, and how would we react if Russia meddled in Mexican or canadian affairs seeking to weaken the USA?

3. Putin has asked only that the Ukrainian government be changed (or upheld) legally and democratically; that the legally-elected Ukraine government be upheld until national elections are scheduled and held.  Putin has also reminded the West that the ousted Ukrainian President had agreed to these stipulations before the mobs forced him to flee. Is it not the height of hipocracy that Obama, of all people, feels he can fault Putin for his actions?

Obama and his Progressive friends, with their fantasy worldview, are just now coming to the realization that Vladmir Putin doesn't give a hoot about "world opinion". Anybody who has studied actual history (beyond the social history propaganda and socialist doctrine that has been served to us over the last several decades) understood this a long time ago. We remember a former Russian realist.  The following is Joseph Stalin's response to Winston Churchill's flowery hopes, as the bombastic Churchill put forth his worldview.
           "
In the world of the future, for which our soldiers have shed their blood on countless fronts”, the British Prime Minister said in his bombastic style, “our three great democracies will demonstrate to all mankind that they, both in wartime and in peacetime, will remain true to the high principles of freedom, dignity, and happiness of the people. That is why I attach such paramount importance to good neighbourly relations between a restored Poland and the Soviet Union. It was for the freedom and independence of Poland that Britain went into this war. The British feel a sense of moral responsibility to the Polish people, to their spiritual values. It is also important that Poland is a Catholic country. We cannot allow internal developments there to complicate our relations with the Vatican…”

“How many divisions does the Pope of Rome have?” Stalin asked, suddenly interrupting Churchill’s line of reasoning.

Churchill stopped short. He had not expected such a question. After all, he was speaking about the moral influence of the Pope, not only in Poland, but, also, throughout the world. Once again, Stalin reaffirmed that he only respected force, and brought Churchill back down to earth from the nebulous heavens.

Progressivism is a religion, and its practicioners evidentally need reminding that the real world is here and now, and it does not follow their pious morality (which, we have seen in many instances and examples, is highly questionable).

How many lessons in reality does it take before sensibility is regained?
