Recently Opened Mystic Barbershop Damaged By Fire: FD
Fire officials said the interior of a newly opened Mystic barbershop was destroyed by a recent fire.

MYSTIC, CT - Fire officials said the interior of a Mystic barbershop that opened only months ago was destroyed by a fire Thursday, the New London Day reported. The building, a former garage, is located behind 29 Broadway Avenue.
Firefighters responded to Murphy's Barbershop & Social Club after the landlord of the building called the department, according to the New London Day. The landlord had attempted to put out the fire with a hand-held extinguisher before making the call, fire officials said.
Officials said firefighters were able to prevent any structural damage to the building, however all the furniture and equipment inside the shop was destroyed, the New London Day reported. No one was injured as a result of the fire, officials said.
