Red Cross Helps Family Of 3 After Fire In Pawcatuck

PAWCATUCK CT – The American Red Cross is helping one family of one adult and two children after a fire Wednesday on Brookside Drive. The Red Cross provided assistance to meet the family's immediate needs, according to a release.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a resident might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire. Additionally, a recovery envelope containing information helpful to families recovering from a fire was provided. (To sign up for Stonington/Mystic breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Information included tips on cleanup, notification of important contacts and dealing with damaged items among other things.

Those affected will meet with Red Cross caseworkers in the coming days to work on a longer-term recovery plan. For more information about the Red Cross visit redcross.org.
