UPDATE: Hikers Rescued From Lantern Hill

The two hikers were brought to an awaiting ambulance.

Ledyard Fire Company District #12 were on scene at Lantern Hill, along with North Stonington Volunteer Fire Company, after receiving a call about hikers in need of rescue.

The North Stonington Volunteer Fire Company shared the following information via Facebook:

Around [7:41 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9], the fire company was dispatched along with North Stonington Ambulance, Ledyard Fire Company District #1, and American Ambulance paramedics to the Lantern Hill Trail for two hikers lost in the woods; one experiencing a medical emergency.

Units searched the area, located the hikers and retrieved them from the woods. Units established rope systems and utilized the recently purchased UTV unit to bring equipment and personnel up the trails. Units are currently clearing the scene.”

Ledyard Fire Company District #1 said the hikers were transported by Ledyard’s ATV to the awaiting North Stonington Ambulance.
