STONINGTON, CT - The Rotary Club of Mystic recently concluded the 2023 Fall Grant Cycle open to area 501(c)3 organizations. The Contributions Committee of the club conducts two grant cycles per year and the funds available to distribute are a direct result of the fundraising projects of the Rotary Club of Mystic, as well as the generosity of private donors. This cycle distributed a total of $8,250. Below is a listing of all recipients:

AVALONIA LAND CONSERVANCY – to purchase a portable sawmill, guide system, and blades to assist in property clearing and management

cARTie – partial support in expansion of programs in education and arts for young children through its mobile art museum bus

CHILDEN FIRST GROTON-CHILD & FAMILY AGENCY – assistance in obtaining emergency gift cards serving families in crisis

HEALING THERAPIES THRU SHARING – helping to cover costs, not paid by insurance, in order to provide oncology massage therapy to cancer patients

MADONNA PLACE, INC – providing services promoting health and prevention of child abuse and neglect by offering low income parents and families critical programs to build strong support systems

MARTIN HOUSE, INC – funds to improve community dining area for the Martin House Residential Community serving individual adults with various issues such as mental health, low income, substance abuse and other issues

NEW LONDON HOMELESS HOSPITALITY CENTER – funds to purchase a new storage shed that would provide residents a safe and secure place to store personal belongings while in their program

SAFE FUTURES – to assist in funding of their crisis intervention services for those dealing with domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and trafficking and/or other related traumas

WESTERLY AREA REST MEALS (WARM SHELTER) – funds will address food insecurity assisting hundreds of at-risk individuals and families in the area
