UPDATE: Six Children Transported to Hospital After Bad Reaction to Stonington Pool Water

The children experienced a number of serious symptoms, including vomiting and difficulty breathing.

Stonington, CT — Four different town ambulances transported six children to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital after having bad reactions to pool water, The Day reported.

The children, ranging from 3 to 13 years old, experienced symptoms such as vomiting, severe abdominal pain and difficulty breathing after they swam in a pool at Seaport RV Resort and Campground, according to The Day. Old Mystic fire officials said a seventh child experienced similar symptoms while an eight was in the pool, but only six were transported.

State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection hazmat team members reported to the scene and did not find any high levels of chlorine or any substance, while no gaseous odors or any other issues were detected with the pool, The Day reported. Stonington, North Stonington, Mystic River and Groton ambulances assisted in the transportation of the children.
