Sprigs & Twigs Awards Scholarships to Eco-Conscious Students
Essays show passion and commitment to the environment
Sprigs & Twigs, Inc., a leading landscape design, lawn care and tree service provider in southeastern Connecticut, today announced the recipients of its annual Environmental Steward Scholarship. College scholarships valued at $500 each were awarded to two students from southeastern Connecticut.
Kylie Fustini of Gales Ferry is graduating from Ledyard High School and will major in Environmental Studies at Brown University. A National Honor Society member, Fustini’s Sprigs & Twigs’ scholarship essay focused on her environmental concerns related to the Thames River.

Victoria Georgetti of Mystic, a 2012 Stonington High School graduate, will study Sustainable Agriculture at the University of New Hampshire. Georgetti’s scholarship essay revealed that her family and time spent working at a farm-to-table restaurant that uses a sustainable approach to agriculture and dining influenced her chosen major.
“Sprigs & Twigs’ scholarship program supports and encourages the next generation of environmentalists,” said Linda Lillie, AOLCP, president and senior landscape designer, Sprigs & Twigs. “Our 2013 scholarship winners are eco-conscious, exceptional young women with bright futures. We are thrilled to support their academic studies.”

This is the fourth year Sprigs & Twigs awarded scholarships to college-bound students. The application required students to provide an official high school transcript, two letters of recommendation and a 1,000-word personal essay on an environmental topic.
