Stonington 1st Grade Teacher Nets 3 DUI-Related Arrests in One Year

Anne Collette was involved in an alleged drunk driving accident in 2014 and arrested again this year.

A Vine Street School teacher from Pawcatuck was arrested on May 31 in Rhode Island on a DWI charge.

Anne Collette, 53, pleaded no contest to the charge on Tuesday, Sept. 9, in Rhode Island’s Third District Court, according to The Day newspaper.

This is the second time in one year Collette was arrested on drunk driving charges. In October 2014, she reportedly hit a guardrail with her car, causing the car to rollover, The Westerly Sun reported.

She was arrested on the following charges:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Failure to drive right

In April, Collette was arrested and charged with reckless driving, failure to drive right and littering, after she was observed allegedly driving erratically on Elmridge Road and throwing bottles out of the window.

She turned herself in for that incident in August. Her next court date is Wednesday, Sept. 30.
