STONINGTON, CT — Stonington Borough will keep its municipal elections in May for 2023 and seek voter input on how to move forward, according to The New London Day. The borough is opting out of a new state law mandating that municipalities hold elections in November.

The measure, which was passed as part of the state's June 2021 budget bill, mandates all municipal elections be held in November of odd years unless the towns opt out.

The borough will pose the question as to whether municipal elections should be moved in the November 2023 election.
