Stonington Election 2016 Results: Winners Revealed in Local Races

STONINGTON, CT — Results are coming in for a number of electoral races across the board in Stonington, both on a local and national scale.

On the ballot, registered voters in Stonington were able to select candidates for president and vice president, United States senator, representatives to U.S. Congress, state senator, state representative and registrar of voters.

In Stonington, Republican candidate Heather Somers declared victory over Democratic candidate Tim Bowles for the 18th Senatorial District, as reported by the Norwich Bulletin. Somers had previously served as mayor of Groton from 2011 to 2013.

In the 43rd State House District, Democratic incumbent Diana S. Urban won out over Republican candidate Nicholas H. Mullane II, as reported by the Westerly Sun.

Republican Karen Linehan and Democrat Peggy Cawley are the candidates for registrar of voters.
