Stonington Elementary Teacher Submits Resignation

Anne Collette reportedly resigned after two arrests on drunken driving charges.

A West Vine Street School first grade teacher from Pawcatuck submitted a resignation to the Board of Education, citing personal reasons.

According to FoxCT, Anne Collette has been a Stonington teacher for the past 18 years.

Collette, 53, was arrested on May 31 in Rhode Island on a DWI charge. She pleaded no contest to the charge on Tuesday, Sept. 9, in Rhode Island’s Third District Court, according to The Day newspaper.

This is the second time in one year Collette was arrested on drunk driving charges. In October 2014, she reportedly hit a guardrail with her car, causing the car to rollover, The Westerly Sun reported.
