Stonington Enacts Water Usage Restriction

The town is limiting the use of water due to drought conditions.

Effective Immediately, the watering of lawns, the filling of swimming pools, the filling of wading pools, the washing of exterior siding of housing, the washing of motor vehicles, the washing of sidewalks, the washing of boats or vessels, and similar water use is declared to be unlawful and restricted unless the uses are utilized as follows:

(A) Addresses ending in an even number are allowed to use water without mandatory restrictions on even number calendar days.

(B) Addresses ending in an odd number are allowed to use water without mandatory restrictions on odd number calendar days.

This provision shall not apply to commercial users but only to the extent that the use of water is a necessary product for the delivery of its service or commercial product. Commercial restaurants shall only serve water upon request.
