Stonington Estimated To Save Nearly $5 Million On Elementary School Project
Stonington officials estimate the town will save almost $5 million on a planned elementary school project.

STONINGTON, CT - Stonington officials estimate the town will save almost $5 million on a planned elementary school project, the New London Day reported. The news was brought before the Board of Selectmen on Wednesday by K-12 School Building Committee Chairman Rob Marseglia.
Marseglia said updated costs for the Deans Mill and West Vine Street elementary school renovation and expansion project have come in lower than expected, according to the New London Day. Estimates show the project will cost $4.8 million less than the $67 million in borrowing approved by voters. (To sign up for Stonington/Mystic breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
The new estimates will result in $2 million in savings at West Vine and $2.8 million at Deans Mill, the New London Day reported. Work is on both schools is slated to be finished in December 2018 after beginning this month.
