Stonington Examining Ways to Upgrade and Improve Town Departments

The move is meant to give the town a fresh set of eyes in a sense.

STONINGTON, CT- The Board of Selectmen are requesting funds from the Board of Finance for consultation on the way the town and its departments operate, as reported by the Westerly Sun.

The move is meant to give the town a fresh set of eyes for upgrades and improvements that can be made to the processes and procedures of the departments, according to the Westerly Sun. The town might bring in an experienced municipal consultant if it appropriates $15,000.

A similar process was done in the 1980’s for the town’s police department, according to the Westerly Sun. It is hoped that through the process would come at a cost, it would pay off in spades once improvements are made in various areas as a result.
