Stonington Looks To Hire Public Works Director, Police Dispatcher

The Town of Stonington has posted two new positions; one to run public works and the other a police communications specialist.

The DPW director “performs highly responsible, professional and administrative work …(and) is responsible for the formulation, implementation, coordination, and administration of the Department. Work consists of a wide range of functions which includes the oversight of all budgets within the Public Works Department, management of the Town’s infrastructure, oversight of all public works projects and the supervision of all highway, facility, and engineering personnel.” For more information on the post, click here.

The communications specialist, or dispatcher position pays $41,000 a year up to $52,000 within four years. Based on a quick read, save for a high school diploma, computer knowledge, good communications skills and the ability to pass a background check, there are little other requirements.
