Stonington Man Rams Car into Tree Repeatedly, Smashes Again with Truck to Teach Daughter a Lesson: Police

Police initially had a difficult time finding an explanation for the incident, which they called "bizarre."

STONINGTON, CT - Police said a man repeatedly rammed a car into a tree in his yard last week and is now facing charges, the New London Day reported.

Joseph M. Bailey, 44, of Pawcatuck was charged with creating a public disturbance and driving with a suspended license, according to the New London Day. Police initially had a difficult time finding an explanation for the incident, which they called ā€œbizarre.ā€

Further investigation revealed that Bailey’s daughter had struck a deer with the vehicle, for which he wanted to teach her a lesson by ramming the car into a tree several times, according to the New London Day. Police said Bailey then rammed a truck into the car several more times.
