Mystic Pizzeria Announces Sudden Closure
A downtown Mystic restaurant announced on social media that it would close after 14 years in business.
MYSTIC, CT — Pizzetta announced that Sunday would be its last day in operation after 14 years in business.
The restaurant made the following announcement on Facebook:
"To our valued customers and friends, who have become family:

"Today will be Pizzetta's last day. We cannot thank you enough for the love and support you have continued to show over the years.
"While encouraging you to keep the Pizzetta energy alive, focusing on the positive memories and telling stories of the good times that were had by all, we hope that you look forward to the future, and the exciting changes that are to come."

The post garnered 312 reactions and 86 comments.
Many were disappointed to hear that the restaurant was closing and said they would miss the restaurant's gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options.
One user wrote: "NOOOOOOOOOOO! GF/DF pizza this delicious simply does not exist anywhere else. This is the saddest, most disappointing news."
The restaurant at 7 Water St. also featured a heated outdoor patio and welcomed dogs.
Pizzetta said on its website that it used "fresh and often local ingredients" to make its "creative pizzas." The menu offered a variety of specialty pies along with paninis and salads.
