Stonington Planning and Zoning Approves Permit for Elementary School Project

The permit will go towards renovations and additions to Dean's Mill Elementary School.

STONINGTON, CT – A special use permit for an elementary school project was unanimously approved Tuesday, the Westerly Sun reported.

The Planning and Zoning Commission made their approval during a public hearing Tuesday night, according to the Westerly Sun. The permit will go towards renovations and additions to Dean’s Mill Elementary School.

The project, along with work on West Vine Street Elementary that was tabled, is estimated to cost $69 million, the Westerly Sun reported. The K-12 Building Committee hopes the work will give Stonington 50 more years of use out of the buildings.
