Stonington Police Arrest More than 160 DWI Arrests in 2016: Report
Police said 22 drivers were charged with DWI in November alone.
STONINGTON, CT - Stonington police wrapped up the year by totaling 166 DWI arrests in 2016, The Day reported.
The department made 53 more arrests than in 2015, when they charged 113 people, according to The Day. Police said 22 drivers were charged with DWI in November alone, compared to 10 in November 2015.
Most arrests were made by officers identifying drivers swerving, speeding or driving erratically, The Day reported. This large number is still behind the total for 2005 of 227 drivers.
